Psychology is a fascinating topic, examining how we as humans think, feel and behave. Basically, this is the study of how the mind works. Unfortunately, what we want to study is largely invisible. This course provides an overview of classic and contemporary research in psychology. A wide range of topics will be covered, including:
History and Methods
The Brain, Biology and Behavior
Sensation and Perception
Development
Thinking and Cognition
Learning
Memory
Personality
Abnormal Psychology and Therapy
Social Psychology
In this VOD AP Psychology course, we will cover every major topic of psychology, giving background and research studies to illustrate the concepts. Similarly, we will use everyday examples to show that this is the science of our social world and is highly relevant to the way to act, socialize and think. How accurate is our judgment? Why is memory so unreliable? What do my friends think of me? These are just some of the fascinating topics we will touch upon. Each class involves going through concepts, answering questions from actual AP practice items, and well as homework assignments that ask you to apply our connect concepts. In the final few lessons, we go through even more practice items, and even discuss strategies for writing the essays. My goal is not just to prepare you for the AP test, but to make you enthusiastic about the interesting world of psychology.
